Carrier Strike Group – Simulated Strait Transit Off California Coast

The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group conducts a simulated strait transit off the coast of Southern California. The goal of the evolution was to teach the strike group to avoid escalating the situation, and to monitor and assess the potential threats. The realistic simulation allowed the strike group to respond with real-time interaction. During the exercise, potential threats were spotted on radar and helicopters were tasked to investigate and report back to the strike group.
