When Dr. Armin Wasler helped create the drug midazolam, it was supposed to be used to help sedate people in the operating room, not kill them in the execution chamber. VICE News tracked down the chemist who created one of the drugs being used in Arkansas this week to execute death row inmates and talks to him about what it’s like to be part of the long line of inventors whose creations are used to kill.
