ZAKA is an Israeli volunteer-run emergency response team. In addition to saving lives, ZAKA volunteers have a mission to ensure the dead are buried in accordance with strict religious rules. We follow ZAKA’s most senior and experienced volunteer Eliezer Summit as he responds to unnatural deaths around Jerusalem. We also follow his emotional journey, as he is affected by each new job and continues to recover from past work, specifically volunteering in the aftermath of the Ethiopian Airlines plane crash earlier this year.
