Malaysia has cracked down on a dating app that connects sugar babies with wealthy sugar daddies. Started by 34-year-old entrepreneur Darren Chan in 2017, Sugarbook had been gaining traction among young Malaysians, particularly students, who turned to the site for quick money during the pandemic. Chan was arrested in February and is now facing trial.
