An undercover investigator for animal rights groups has spent the last 25 years covertly filming at factory farms across the UK and Europe. They are nothing like what they show in advertisements: He sees animals beaten for not doing what the workers want, living half-dead in their own excrement.
This is the state of farms everywhere, even places making products labelled “local”, “organic” or “free range”. He shares the worst things he’s seen, the effect it has on the workers and on the investigators themselves.
Informer is a series where we hear the anonymised confessions and insights of people in positions of power on the inside of important institutions.
